Masters in Physiotherapy is a two-year degree programme under Utkal University to prepare a Physiotherapist for the advances in diagnostics & physical therapies for the management of various medical conditions. The cardio pulmonary disorders, neurological disorders, musculo-skeletal disorders, gynecological disorders, pediatrics & geriatric conditions all require specialized skills and depth of knowledge in the specified areas of health care and management. The rehabilitation in disability conditions and management of traumatic injury including various sports related injuries requires unique orientation and training for the physiotherapists.

The MPT programme will be a proactive degree with class presentation, clinical conferences, Journal clubs, etc.

Research work is a compulsory component of MPT programme. The thesis has to be an original work to be submitted by every student. Every student has to attend regular classes and clinic at the Institute and other hospitals as assigned from time to time to equip them with requisite skills and knowledge.
